Hello everyone!

I hope you all had an awesome Easter Sunday. It was a beautiful day here in Ohio yesterday. Today, not so much. Lots of wind and ugly clouds. I went on an exchange in New Castle, PA on Tuesday. Pennsylvania is a very different place than Ohio!

We found a solid investigator last week! We had just got back to our apartment to change. We get out of the truck and a guy comes up to us and asked if we were LDS. We told him yes and then he went on to tell us how his daughter is getting sealed in California in May. He was super frustrated that he couldn’t see his daughter get married because he wasn’t a member. We let him vent his frustration and then we began to teach about the temple.

By the end of our conversation, he understood why he couldn’t be inside the temple yet. He invited us to come over to his apartment the next day! So we did. It was amazing to see as we taught him, everything just seemed to click for him. It was like light switches being turned on. His name is John. John told us that it might take a lot of time but if he found out that it’s true, he will get baptized. Well that’s good enough for us!!

Doctrine & Covenants 84:85 rang true to me after John came up to us in the parking lot as a frustrated father:

Neither take ye thought beforehand what ye shall say; but treasure up in your minds continually the words of life, and it shall be given you in the very hour that portion that shall be meted unto every man.

It has been amazing to see how the Spirit of the Lord helps us teach in spur-of-the-moment situations like the one we experienced last week.

I hope you all are planning on watching General Conference this weekend!!

Love,

Elder Gallegos
