This past week flew by. Like most weeks do. It seems like they go by faster and faster. I got a new companion. His name is Elder Hulet and he’s from St. George! He’s a good Elder. We had the opportunity of hearing from several apostles on Wednesday from a world wide missionary broadcast training. Yesterday we had Stake Conference and this upcoming Sunday I get to speak in Sacrament Meeting!
We have been very busy. We have been working a lot with members and it seems to be yielding results! Many are beginning to take steps to invite their friends to learn more about the Restored Gospel. It’s amazing to watch! Something that Elder Neal Andersen taught was that we as missionaries and members sometimes don’t know what to say to our friends and family whom we want to share the Gospel with. He said,
"…if you are ever unsure of what to say, speak of the Savior. Testify of Him. Speak of His doctrine, of faith in Him and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end. This is your purpose. This is your charge.”
Elder Bednar spoke of the importance of understanding the Spirit’s role in conversion and teaching. He taught that we bring the Spirit unto the hearts of those we teach. But it’s the job of those we teach to allow the Spirit into their hearts. Therefore, we shouldn’t be discouraged if the person we are teaching doesn’t accept us.
I love learning from apostles!! They are inspired men.
I hope you all have a good week!
ps here’s a pic of the new companion. Sorry it’s kinda blurry!
