It is absolutely freezing here. Yesterday was 4 degrees and that wasn’t accounting for the wind chill. We’ve got some snow and we have more on the way.Things are going well for us here in Youngstown. We experienced a miracle last week with bringing someone who we just met to a baptism that the sister missionaries were having. We also had Elder Gong from the presidency of the seventy come to our mission on Friday.
A week ago on Tuesday night, the sisters had 2 baptisms. The service started at 7 and we were waiting on an investigator to come to the church to see the baptism. Well that investigator didn’t show up so we decided to go and find someone in the surrounding neighborhoods of the church to come. We knocked on several doors and everyone who answered were not interested. At that point, I was starting to lose faith! I was thinking "it’s 7:10 and the service started at 7. By the time we find someone it’s going to be too late."
I then said a prayer in my heart that I could have faith that we would find someone to bring with us. We knock the house closest to the church and a man comes to the door. We invite him to come and see a baptism and he accepted our invitation! Next thing I know, we are barely sneaking through the door in time to see the baptisms take place. We were both in awe. A scripture in Moroni came to mind. Chapter 7. Verse 33:
And Christ hath said: If ye will have faith in me ye shall have power to do whatsoever thing is expedient in me.
I will never forget how absolutely important faith is.
To wrap this email up, Elder Gong challenged us to do something and I would like to challenge all of you to do the same. He said
Wherever you are, take the next step.
Really think about what your next step in getting closer to the Savior is. And take it.
Love you all!!
