I hope everyone had a good week. My week was full of cold and lots of snow. We got another 6 inches so that’s fun! Plenty of spiritual experiences and miracles this week. One of which I would like to share.
Yesterday a member of our ward, Brother Evans, wanted us to go with him to give a blessing to an elderly man who was sick. His name is Brother Elsea. He had some kind of nasty stomach bug that was so bad he couldn’t even sit up for the blessing. We gave him the priesthood blessing and literally the second we finished the blessing he got up and went to the bathroom to throw up everything that was making him sick and he said he felt 100 times better. For those of you who don’t know, I cringe at anything that has to do with throw up! But your body needs to get rid of sickness somehow! Anyways, the moral of the story here is that the power of the priesthood is REAL.
If the person giving the blessing is a worthy priesthood holder with sufficient faith, and the person receiving the blessing has sufficient faith, miracles can and will come to pass.
On Saturday, we helped distribute a ton of Girl Scout cookies out of a warehouse. I have never seen so many Thin Mints and Samoa’s in my life. After doing that we were able to share the message of the Restored Gospel with one of the warehouse workers. His name is Gary. He’s a very open minded, smart guy. We gave him a Book of Mormon and he was so happy to accept it. We’re meeting with him again tomorrow afternoon. Oh, and we got several free boxes of cookies too so that was nice.
Scripture of the week: 1 Nephi 8:12
12 And as I partook of the fruit thereof it filled my soul with exceedingly great joy; wherefore, I began to be desirous that my family should partake of it also; for I knew that it was desirable above all other fruit.
This scripture is why I want to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with everyone.
I love you all. Until next week,
